Many skills are needed on a homestead. One of the most important is cooking for a hungry family after working on the farm all day. This was a skill taught to young people back in the day. But sadly, it’s easier to run to the fast food restaurant and grab a burger than cook a meal.

But when living in a rural, restaurants aren’t close by, and it’s more healthy to eat food prepared at home from vegetables grown in the garden. Not to mention it’s much cheaper to cook from scratch than go out and eat at a restaurant.

This workbook was created for those that want to learn how to cook from scratch. I used my grandma Van Winkle’s cookbook for the recipes. She used this cookbook from 1960 to the early 1970s.

I thought it would be cool to add a type of challenge done over a month’s time. So the workbook has two recipes each week and a page after each week asking how things went, plus many more pages to work through.

I think this will be a great seller for the Teen market, many homeschoolers are out there these days, and this would be a great supplement to their education.
